Crawl Score is the work of Dan Frost and Matt Burke.

Our background is in developing web applications and websites for corporates and government agencies.

Crawl Score was originally part of a whole suite of SEO tools that we had in mind but we found that we were too keen to add more and more features (the correct term would be "scope creep"...) to this all singing, all dancing toolkit but after 12 months hard work we realised we were no closer to launching than when we started it - we needed to de-scope...

We looked at what issues we had faced with our own sites over the years and felt that one of the most over-looked aspects was the "crawlability" of your site.

When we ran a very early version of Crawl Score on our own carefully crafted, well ranking and established sites we were genuinely amazed at the mistakes we made - we just wouldn't have realised those mistakes existed unless we used this application.

We use Crawl Score every day to ensure our sites are working correctly and sufficiently optimised. It's particulary useful for larger sites where it's impossible to check every page.

Some techy information for those that are interested - the Crawl Score website is Drupal based, the reporting centre is .NET and the crawler something else altogether!

All data is stored on resilient and replicated servers.
