We seem to be getting a number of people signing up to crawlscore who have issues with Google Mini and/or Search Appliance. It seems that people are not able to find out why the Appliances aren't crawling their sites properly. We've implemented Google Mini for a medium sized (30k pages) UK government website and didn't have any issues with it crawling but the aforementioned site was pretty well put together (from a crawlability point of view at least). We had lots of other problems but that's besides the point... If you're having problems with Google Search Appliance then just get in touch and we'll try to help you out. The feedback we've had so far on crawlscore has been amazing. I'm yet to here a bad word about it - I wouldn't mind if we did just so we can try to address it. The main crawler is performing very well but the backup ones are quite slow - it's pretty much pot luck which one you get. Once the new crawler is ready it'll only be on the faster servers. |
